Plano, Texas - The Collin County law firm of Albin | Harrison | Roach, PLLC, today announced that they have acquired the employment litigation firm of Calhoun & Peña, PLLC. This acquisition adds to their rapidly expanding portfolio of highly skilled legal talent.
Laura Calhoun and Connie Peña have joined the firm as employment law litigators. Ms. Calhoun is board certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and brings extensive experience in employment law, corporate law, civil litigation, appellate law and serves as a trained mediator. She earned her law degree from South Texas College of Law and a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University. Ms. Calhoun has been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the Texas Supreme Court, and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas. She is also a Board Member of the Plano Bar Association.
Ms. Peña focuses her practice on employment law, corporate law, and civil litigation. Specifically, she brings extensive expertise in employer counseling and litigation involving discrimination, retaliation, and sexual harassment claims, as well as other employment related matters such as non-compete agreements and wage/ contract claims. Ms. Peña earned her law degree from Baylor University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Environmental Science from Baylor University. She has been admitted to the Texas Supreme Court and in Texas State Courts, United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern District of Texas, and Eastern Districts of Texas.
Ms. Peña is an active member of the Plano Bar Association and currently serves on the Board as CLE-Director. In addition to her involvement in the legal community, Ms. Peña is an active member of The Junior League of Plano.
